The eleven yer old does well with everything except maths where he struggles to an inordinate degree. His challenge is with the basic concepts. For example, he can mentally subtract 25 from 50 but is unable to subtract 250,000 from 500,000. He simply cannot grasp the concept of zero. I only started home-schooling this year when he was due to start year 7. It was obvious that he was still struggling with Year 6 maths and would be left farther and farther behind. I have spent many hours reviewing every online resource I can find but none seem to offer anything that Studyladder doesn't. BTW - having looked at so many other alternatives, I have to conclude that Studyladder is the 'bargain of the century'! ”
